New opportunities for innovative business models

2nd May 2016, IHK Karlsruhe

The fourth edition of the successful conference “Connect Ideas2Business – Your marketplace for sustainable energy solutions” attracted once again numerous stakeholders from the energy sector to Karlsruhe. 164 attendants including 96 representatives from enterprises, 14 from research institutes, 7 from networks as well as 18 investors and business developers took advantage of this opportunity to discover innovative energy solutions in 33 pitch presentations and 38 exhibitions stands.

IT security, as shown during the interview round in the morning session, offers new opportunities for innovative business models. Moreover, it was shown that for skilled crafts and trades, the dynamics of the energy market and the energy transition not only constitute a challenge but also offer new opportunities. Energy providers such as the MVV Energie AG have a growing interest to collaborate with small and medium sized enterprises in order to jointly manage the energy transition.

The participants appreciated the conference as it offered an excellent overview about the essential aspects of the entire energy value chain as well as the latest innovations.

The Connect Ideas2Business 2016 was organised by Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum in cooperation with KIC InnoEnergy Germany and fokus.energie and received funding from the Ministry of Finance and Economics of Baden-Württemberg.
